Super Casuals is dusting off a vintage newspaper ad for a new web promotion featuring their low Carhartt and Levis jeans pricing.
The ad originally ran in the local newspaper, the Finger Lakes Times, in 1994, and caused quite a stir back then. Most customers reacted with the humor that was intended, often trying to match the legs to the employees who posed for the picture. Others weren’t so enthusiastic and thought the image – a half page ad, no less – was a bit too, um, un-tasteful. Oh well. Can’t please everybody.
So we thought we’d dust off this classic and give it a spin on the Internet and see what happens.
And, yes, our jeans ARE lower. We’re cutting prices on both our Carhartt Jeans and Levi’s Jeans. Check them out and save a bundle.
When Does It Pay For a Business to Pull Down It’s Pants?
This turned out to be one of our most successful promotions. The good thing about it was that we heard loud and clear whether the ad was a hit or not. People had an opinion, one way or the other. And it brought attention to the actual purpose of the ad – our low prices on Carhartt and Levi’s jeans. Simply, it worked.
