COMMENTS: I've had a couple pairs of Corcoran II's in the past, and they've lasted several years despite some neglect on my part. The form fits my feet like no other, they're quite waterproof, and have carried me many miles. I'm taking the time to prep this pair right: sole stitching sealed with SeamGrip urethane, outers scrubbed with saddle soap and overdyed for uniformity across raw edges, and SnoSeal beeswax rubbed in well after sitting in a hot vehicle. I prefer to replace the laces with gutted black 550 cord, rubbed across the edge of a table to make it flat. A couple inconsequential gripes: the venting/ornamentation(?) holes between the toe cap stitching are not neatly centered between the rows like on my older boots, but set back maybe 1/16". Some stitching was missed just below one of the padded collars, at the top of the achilles strip, but I fixed that with some waxed linen thread and a Speedy Stitcher sewing awl. It's good to be handy. Quality control may have slipped a little in recent years, but these are still the boots I would stake my life on.
BOTTOM LINE: recommended
